Sermon 01/14/2018
Joseph's Four Garments - Pt 1
Hilton Lowe Genesis 37:1-8,23-28,31-35
Four garments, worn by Joseph, are examined in significance and purpose in his life:
  1. The coat of many colors worn at home
  2. Servant's garment worn in Potiphar's house
  3. Prison garment worn in jail
  4. Palace garment worn in Pharoah's house
Part 1 focuses on Joseph's coat of many colors.  Jacob, his father, could not have known what would happen to his son when he sent him out with his new coat that day.  Had he known, he wouldn't have sent him out.  God, however, knew the fate of His son from eternity past, yet sent Him anyway.  How much then does Christ deserve our thanks because He knowingly walked the path to Calvary for us?  May we, therefore, resolve to live faithful and godly lives in light of the sacrifice that has been made for us.
