David was a man called by God, who declared David "a man after my own heart." How did David come to posses the ambition and courage that set him apart from others? How was it possible for a mere shepherd boy, who perfomed such menial tasks to become the king of his people? How did a person who lived his life in the background rise to such a prominant place in the Bible?

This inspirational sermon focuses on the character and life of David and outlines how David learned early on the value of a life devoted to God. Studying God's word, praying and living a life of obedience were the hallmarks of David's life.
