Sermon 08/15/2010
Guard The Gates
Dean Allen Proverbs 4:23-27
God's Word tells us that we must be on guard 24/7 against attacks from the devil. Being prepared and watchful will allow us to maintain the proper spiritual posture. This challenging sermon addresses the four vital gates in our Christian life that we must guard at all costs:
  1. The gate of the heart. Implore the Lord to write His Word on your heart through diligent and consistent memorization of the Bible.
  2. The gate of our tounge. Words can be destructive or instructive. Our words must be truthful, acurate, pure and thoughtful.
  3. The gate of our eyes. The eyes are the window of the soul. Our eyes must be fixed on Jesus. Bad company corrupts good morals.
  4. The gate of our feet. Choosing and remaining on the path that is straight and narrow, for this is the path Jesus has choosen for us.
